Did you read our post on "What You Don't Know About Squirrels?" If you did, you already know Squirrels mate twice a year - in the Spring and in the Fall. We want you to know that this natural phenomenon is great for the squirrels, but may cause you some problems in your home.
Squirrels naturally prefer the comforts of the woods and nature's tree houses, but they have been known to take residence in attics, barns and sheds. Giving birth between two and eight young, squirrels can cause a problem if they get adventurous. They cause electrical problems by gnawing on electrical wires, and that alone can become a fire hazard.
If you think you may have a run in with a squirrel, it is best to make sure your attic is sealed properly so that you don't unknowingly invite a pregnant squirrel into your home. If you have a squirrel nest in your home or another building on your property, we offer wildlife removal and exclusion services to help. We can trap the squirrels for you and then make sure they get back to the wild where they belong without harming them.
